John Bijl has had a passion for ferns for more than thirty years. He propagates a wide range of young ferns which he supplies to nurseries all over the world. But he now also wants to introduce consumers to the fascinating history and diversity of ferns.

Ellen Kraaijenbrink works for Vitro Plus more than 20 years, marketing being one of her tasks. She admires the beauty of ferns more and more and sees it as a challenge to enthuse customers about it. For her Cedar House Ferns is a great project to work on!

Richard Hayward, a famous British fern collector, has enjoyed ferns ever since he encountered them as a boy scout in South Wales and took them to London as souvenirs. After his retirement he owned a small fern farm in North Wales.

Crop Specialist
Heleen Pompe has 30 years of experience as a crop specialist at Vitro Plus. With her enthusiasm, she fits perfectly into the Cedar House Ferns Family. To expand her knowledge, she studies the ferns in the garden together with other plants, shrubs and trees.

Writer
Sarah Whittingham specialized in architecture, interiors and gardens of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries during her PhD. She inspired the Cedar House Ferns Family with her book “The Victorian Fern Craze”, on which she writes and lectures widely.
